About Me

In a way, my life has been a pursuit to accomplish many childhood dreams.  I have had so many great experiences and dreams that came true with hard work and fortunate circumstances... living and working at Disney World, working in radio and television, meeting George Lucas at his Skywalker Ranch, skydiving, traveling to various places in the world - the list could just go on and on. I enjoy going on day trips, especially on my motorcycle. Life is good.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania south of Philadelphia in a town called Marcus Hook, I came from a typical working class family.  I am the oldest of two brothers and a sister.  My dad worked full-time and attended college while I was a boy.  The family later moved to the State of Delaware when I was 12 years old.  Life was an adventure as a kid.

Friends and colleagues consider me transparently sincere.  I believe that strong mental force and faith can conquer many of the adversities faced in life.  I also believe accountability is important for every person.  The saying 'count your blessings' is essential to healthy thinking.  I am very thankful to live in 21st century America.  Without a doubt, I have had my share of trials and tribulations on life's highway.  Hard times can either strengthen character or lead to defeat.  Solving problems and overcoming obstacles gives me satisfaction.

Overall wellness is important to me.  What I now self-implement for much improved quality of life has been learned not only from scientific discoveries in health, but through personal trial and error succession and observation of others mistakes.  I neither consume alcoholic beverages nor smoke.  I do not participate in reckless behaviors that may endanger me or others.  I maintain a healthy high-protein low-carbohydrate diet, exercise regularly, and think positive by means of daily meditation techniques.  With this lifestyle, I am proud to announce being medication-free!  I believe that maturity comes from seeking wisdom and engaging in life-long learning.

The people I admire most are the greatest contributors to society. In particular I like Steven Spielberg, Walt Disney, Jim Henson, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Edison, Ronald Reagan, Michael Landon, and George Lucas.  It was a thrill to once be just feet away from astronaut and pioneer Buzz Aldrin as he described his trip to the moon in 1969.  The fictional character of Ben Cartwright of the TV show Bonanza has been a great mentor.  Heroes are people that demonstrate courage, wisdom, integrity, and character in their daily lives.

Then and Now

In my own lifetime, I have experienced the many changes of modern technology.  I am glad to have been in college just before the digital explosion.  I learned how to do many things 'manually' which often required more skill and thought.  Below is my personal list of things I have done then and now.

THEN: Drove a stick shift > NOW: Driving with automatic transmission
THEN: Learned to type on a manual typewriter > NOW: Typing on a computer keyboard
THEN: Edited video on tape cartridges (linear) > NOW: Editing video digitally (non-linear)
THEN: Edited audio on 1/4" reel tape by cut & splice > NOW: Editing sound digitally
THEN: Developed pictures in a darkroom with chemicals (shot with 35mm SLR film camera) > NOW: Utilizing digital photography and Adobe Lightroom
THEN: Used 35mm slides or overhead transparencies for presentations (graphics done by hand) > NOW: Using Microsoft PowerPoint
THEN: Used Rand McNally maps to find directions > NOW: Using GPS to navigate
THEN: Filed papers in folders within a cabinet > NOW: Archiving to hard disk
THEN: Handwritten notes in cursive > NOW: Communicating through a keyboard
